Obama Just Saved The World

About the Author:  The Party of Kennedy is NOT the Party of Pelosi. The Democratic Party has radically degenerated into a socialistic and postmodern perversion of its former place in American political thought. In place of Judeo-Christian values they embrace secular humanism; in place of a strong national defense they embrace a reliance upon internationalism; in place of a strong family they embrace a radical abortion agenda that increasingly includes outright infanticide. I can't sit idly by and watch the culture war pass me by. It is time to choose sides. As Joshua 24:15 puts it, "choose this day whom you will serve." Polls have shown that the more committed one is to (any) religious belief, the more conservative one tends to be politically. One’s views toward religion profoundly affect one’s commitment to political, social, and moral issues. In my articles, I seek to argue in favor of a religion-friendly view of culture, morality, and politics. Read more from this author

Taking time from his gold while on vacation in Hawaii, Barack Obama spake unto the media, and the Russians and Georgians heard his eloquence and repented of their sins:

I reiterate my call for Russia to stop its bombing campaign, to stop flights of Russian aircraft in Georgian airspace, and to withdraw its ground forces from Georgia. The Georgian government has proposed a cease-fire and the Russian government should accept it. There is also an urgent need for humanitarian assistance to reach the people of Georgia, and casualties on both sides.

The Governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine, proclaimed our salvation and our eternal debt of gratitude to Obama:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/v/0njdTjo0b4A&hl=en&fs=1]

“It was a bad crisis for the world. It required tough words but also a smart approach to call on the international community to step in. And I’m very, very happy that the Senator’s request for a ceasefire has been complied with by President Medvedev.”

As one of the little insignificant peons in your global domain, let me thank you for my life, Senator Obama.

I confess that I had doubts about you. I even (sniff) thought you were a political lightweight. I had no idea that you could reach out across the planet with a mere word of power and end wars and conflagrations.

Most surely you really are our political Messiah.

And it should be pointed out that the Obama campaign would consider Michael Eden a McCain surrogate if he were to make a racially insensitive comment, thereby placing the blame directly upon McCain. I think it is fair, then, to point out that Kaine is specifically and by position an Obama surrogate.

Russians don’t care about what Obama said. It was a fast in fast out job since the start for them. Look at the way Russians handle hostage crises.

And you guys thought I was simply being humorous when I posted Virginia To Obama: Take Our Governor . . . Please! Take Our Governor. http://americassentinel.com/2008/08/05/virginia-to-obama-take-our-governor-please-take-our-governor/

. . . a few days ago on this site. No, really; anyone who is short a governor, Kaine’s yours for the asking!

I simply cannot believe the arrogance of Obama, and his followers. They’re like a cult. They “do not know” what they do not know. Electing Obama will be like putting Barbara Striesand in office; Glitz, voice, and brainless.

    Hey, Hey,
    I saved the world today
    Everybody’s happy now
    The bad thing’s gone away
    Everybody’s happy now
The good thing’s here to stay
    Please let it stay.

Thank you, O great Obama, for saving the world once again.

Having never met the man, I may be over reaching here but Tim Kaine is a hat rack.

  • Kevin says:

Kaine, is an irrelevant ass. He has no legacy here in Virginia, so he is hanging his hopes on the Obamanation of Desolation

  • kbTexan says:

Forget the 3 AM phone call. Obama can’t handle a crisis in broad daylight.

  • misanthropicus says:

Since we’ve seen Putin in action (and we know a few other things about him), now think of Glibama facing him in a crisis (and we know a few other things about Glibama, too).
It’s a rough, rough world out there, where those who are the ones who’ve been waiting for themselves have a short life - we should not allow them at the helm.
Turns out that McCain is not only well qualified for the job, he might be INDEED the providential one - serious.

  • CKA in Red State USA says:

Kaine’s very unpopular in Virginia. But him and Jim Webb as two leading Dems in Virginia? Whew!

And EyesOpen, I do think you owe an apology to hat racks for comparing Tim Kaine to them. At least their usually sturdy, stand upright and carry the burdens they’ve been handed.

    “Calamity” Kaine?

Oh, please, please, Barack Obama, or whatever your name really is, please select him for your running mate. Please.

  • Michael Eden says:

Well, I think we’ve got to give Obama credit for saving the world. I mean, after all, neither the Bush White House or the McCain campaign even TRIED to take credit for the cease-fire salvation.

O mighty Obama, continue to watch over us. Grant peace unto us.

Even from Hawaii, your illustriousness sweeps across the nation (of course, I’m in California, where I can better feel illustriousness sweeping in from Hawaii). :)

I need a little statue of Obama so I can make a wish and rub its belly–kind of like those Buddha statues they use to sell. This guy is simply miraculous.

  • tidewaterjackson says:

With all respect, what else was Barack Obama supposed to do or say? You say he has no experience in foreign affairs, yet when he releases a well thought out (if ultimately impotent) statement on a crisis situation, you bash him for it. Was he supposed to say “no comment” or “gee… I really don’t know”. What would you have slammed him for then?

I’m still an undecided voter, but in all fairness, Obama’s quote sounds a lot like President Bush’s similarly well thought out yet ultimately impotent statement.

And why are we impotent? Because the Bush Administration decided to squander American prestige and influence by pursuing an ill advised war. Not to mention, that Bush after looking into Putin’s soul and concluding he was a good man has done little to check Russia’s devolvement into the USSR Lite.

    Thanks for hearing me out,

  • Paul Zannucci says:

You misunderstand. His people actually take credit for the ceasefire. Plus, he had to issue several statements before he got one right. His first statement was a generic call to both Russia and Georgia to stop hostilities. He had to come back later and amend that to tell Russia to stop its incursion.

  • Michael Eden says:

    Tidewaterjackson,

What Paul said. My post really mocks the pretentiousness of Tim Kaine more than Obama per se. But Tim Kaine is actually one of the top people being vetted for VP (according to the news speculation).

Paul introduces a point to counter your view, though: Obama had to rather radically revise his initial comment to specifically condemn Russia. McCain had no problem spotting what was really going on from moment one.

I can’t disagree with you about President Bush’s “I looked into Putin’s soul” comment. Clearly, it was a mistake. Russia and China are not our friends, and they never have been. But I might add that McCain said way back then, “I looked into Putin’s soul, too, and I saw K.G.B.”

The “squander American prestige” point is simply not true. Since President Bush invaded Iraq, Libya renounced terrorism and WMD; France and Germany elected conservatives to high office, etc. In 2006, we largely became more liberal as Europe became more conservative. The king of Jordan’s visiting Iraq marks a good sign in the Arab world, as well.

As a P.S. I would add this: Dems often say that Bush’s problem is that he didn’t dialog with other world leaders. But in the Putin case, Bush DID dialog. He did everything he could to understand and get along with the guy. He had Putin over at his house for BBQ…… So much for dialog.

Condemning Bush re: Putin and condemning Bush for not “talking” is trying to have it both ways.

Scott, give your head a shake. Obama is a manipulative snake.

Unfortunately the next leader of what was once a Great Nation under God.

  • tidewaterjackson says:

    Michael,

Nice counter point on Obama’s two comments.

That said, I stand by the squandering of American prestige and power. I don’t think Libya finally coming round after 20 years or more of isolation is all Bush’s doing. I think you are being generous giving him that one. Also, how in any way does Germany & France electing more conservative governments get attributed to George W? And why are conservative governments automatically in the beat interest of the US?

Here’s the big point tho, I don’t think the US needs to always get other nation’s approval or affection. There are clearly times where any nation simply must go it alone.

But we are not alone and we can not always act alone. It’s simply not in our nation’s best interest. Where history will condemn the Bush administration is for deciding to go into Iraq. After 9/11 there were spontaneous protests in support of the US in Iran of all places. The world was supportive and understanding of our efforts in Afganistan. Bush had a chance to truly isolate radical Islam and grow into a great president. Instead, we went after Saddam needlessly. Chance to unite most of the nations against terrorism? Out the window… Along with W’s potential claim to greatness.

Also have to stand by the lack of dialog. Where was the Bush team on the Palestinian issue? Why can’t we talk to Iran when conservative icon Ronald Reagan (may he rest in peace) spoke to the evil empire. Is Iran truly more evil and more importantly a bigger threat to us than the USSR was at the height of the cold war? I think not.

Here’s the way I’d put my views on talking, which I belive you twisted. You gotta talk. You gotta believe in our ideals to win out over time. You gotta engage. And when you pick a dancing partner, you gotta pick right.

Bush Senior looked in Gorbechev’s eyes and knew he had a partner he could truly work with. For that and other reasons, Bush Senior will go down as a better president than junior.

Anyway, the good news is that no matter which way it goes in November, the US will be better off than having W in the House.

Thanks for your time and fair minded response,

    TidewaterJackson

  • Michael Eden says:

    Tidewater,
We spent a year plus talking to Iraq and to the world before we invaded. We didn’t just go attack the way Russia just attacked Georgia.

We had no choice but to attack Iraq. We had every reason to believe they had WMD. Most of Saddam’s own generals and bureaucrats believed he had WMD. Iraq (in violation of its Armistice terms which ALONE justified invasion) kicked out the inspectors for FOUR years.

We did everything we possibly could do to try to get meaningful inspections through the UN, but Russia and France led the way in blocking everything. Diplomacy failed because of corruption in the UN (oil for food program) and amoral European governments.

We had to choose between allowing one of the world’s worst dictators obtaining weapons he had ALREADY USED, or stopping him. We chose to stop him.

If we don’t want Iran to have a nuclear bomb - and be able to unleash terrorism with impunity - than we will almost certainly have to do the same thing again. Russia and China are already making sure that no meaningful sanctions get through the UN. Diplomacy will fail again for the same reasons it failed in Iraq. Mark my words.

Go to: http://www.freedomagenda.com/iraq/wmd_quotes.html and see what leading Democrats had to say about Iraq before the invasion. The Democrats’ betrayal in Iraq is one of the most cowardly acts in American history.

Libya renounced WMD and joined the civilized world because it did not want to go the way of Iraq. Iran stopped its nuclear program because IT didn’t want to be next. And if you’re going to put all the blame on him for going into Iraq, the very least you can do is give him some credit for what came out of it.

As for Germany and France, they were two countries who disprove your thesis that we squandered our “prestige.” These conservative governments are closer to the U.S. than they have been for YEARS.

We DO talk to other countries. We talk on numerous levels between numerous intermediaries every single day, just like we always have. George Bush made Vladimir Putin a buddy; he had the guy over for BBQs. Yet Russia has been one of the world’s great jerks. Talking only gets so far.
